Ray Bailey

February 28, 1921 — January 14, 2021

Ray Bailey, age 99 a resident of Kettle Island, KY passed away January 14, 2021 at his home. He was born in Bell County, KY, to the late Everett and Mary Jane Cox Bailey on February 28, 1921. Ray was a retired Master Sargent, WWII and Korean veteran and purple heart recipient. Ray loved to garden, but he mostly loved his grandchildren and his daughter Kayla was his pride and joy.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two sons, Curt Bailey and Larry Bailey. A host of brothers and sisters.

Survivors include his wife Lacinda Bailey; daughter Kayla Brock, Luther “Bud” Bailey and the late Trudy Bailey, Betty Barker and the late Ron Barker, Dianne Bailey, Bruce and Jackie Bailey, Ron Bailey, Judy Anderson; stepchildren Jeremy Coffie (Latonya) and Jennifer Coffie (Christopher); 28 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren. A host of nieces, nephews other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services will be January 18, 2021 at Brooks-Durham Funeral Home at 11am; burial will follow in the Bailey Gap cemetery, Mill Creek.

The family will receive friends after 6PM on Sunday, January 17, 2021 until 9PM at Brooks-Durham Funeral Home. The Brooks-Durham Funeral Home is honored to serve the Bailey family and ask that you keep them in your prayers.
