Inez Black

Inez Black age 88, of Ingram, KY, went to be with her heavenly father on Thursday, September 5, 2019. She was born May 17, 1931 to the late Dan and Bertha Fuson Thompson. In 1946 she became a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church; Inez was an active member and loved her church. She married William Black on April 21, 1950 and they were blessed with three sons.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband William Black, sons William Marvin Black, Garrett Black, and Jerry Black; sisters Martha Marie Jones and Bonnie Leis; brother-in-law Arie Jones; sister-in-law Helen Ramsey.

Survivors include daughter-in-law, Sudie Black; grandsons Gary Black, Bill Black, Shawn Black; granddaughter Michelle Black (Johnathan) Jones; great-grandchildren Hannah Jones, Tristian Jones, Kaylyn Black and Keith Black; special brother-in-law Thomas Leis; brothers-in-law Sherman (Ericka) Black and Ralph (Darlene) Jones; sister-in-law Kathleen Grays; Brothers Jimmy (Carolyn) Thompson and Bobby Thompson; very special friends Linda Taylor, Lois Laws, Phyllis Vaughn; special nephew Jr (Julie) Jones; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Services will be 2PM, Monday, September 9, 2019 at Ebenezer Baptist Church, Ingram, KY with Rev. Keith Bays and Rev. Paul Wayne Goodin; music will be provided by Ebenezer Baptist Church Choir, Thomas and Caffie Golden, Bo Jackson and Jimmy Thompson and Family; burial will follow in Hammond Cemetery, Flat Lick, KY, with Derek Thompson, Doug Ramsey, Arie Jones Jr., Greg Grays, Mike Carroll, Darrell Brooks, Gibb Taylor and Bo Jackson serving as pallbearers; honorary pallbearers are Murphy Buell, Terry Brock, Aaron Thompson, James Ward, Mike Brooks and all preacher and deacons of Ebenezer Baptist Church.

The family will receive friends after 12 on Monday, September 9, 2019 at Ebenezer Baptist Church on until the funeral hour at 2PM at Ebenezer Baptist Church. The Brooks-Durham Funeral Home is honored to serve the Black family.
