Pearl Brock

Pearl M. Brock, 92 of Pineville, KY born November 9, 1919, passed away Jan 17, 2012 at the Saint Elizabeth Hospice Healthcare facility in Edgewood, KY. He was the son of the late Boyd and Francis Brock. He had been retired from General Motors Fischer Body in Norwood Ohio and had served in World War II. He loved his family and loved the lord, he loved living in the Mountains playing guitar, singing gospel songs and attending church.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Muriel of 45 years the mother of his children; brothers Kitt, Leyman, Marion and Homer; sisters Sudie, Florence and Mossie; sons Glenn and Ronnie; 1 great-grandchild and 1 great-great grandchild.

Survivors include his wife of 21 years Margie Brock; Daughters Shirley A. Coots (Richard) of Verona, KY, Delorise F. Merkel (Bob) of Hebron, KY; son Michael W. Brock (Carol) of Falmouth, KY; brothers Ernest Brock (Kathleen) of Whitesburg, KY and Larry Brock (Cossette) of Glenco, KY; 3 stepchildren, 21 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great grandchildren

Funeral services will be 12:00 PM, Saturday January 21, 2012, at The Brooks-Durham Funeral Home with Rev. Sonny Price. Pallbearers will be grandsons; Burial follow in the Pineville Cemetery in Pineville, KY.

The family will receive friends after 5PM UNTIL 8PM Friday January 20, 2012 at the Brooks-Durham Funeral Home. The Brooks-Durham Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements and is honored to be serving the Brock family.
