In loving memory of Jack E. Cornett Sr., age 91 of Pineville, KY passed away Monday May 8th, 2017at his home. He was born March 18, 1926 in Grays Knob to the late Elzie and Nannie Cornett. Jack had retired from Sherwin Williams and had worked at Brooks-Durham Funeral Home for over 25 years, he served in the United States Army Air Corp in WWII in the Philippines; he was a true blue fan of the Kentucky Wildcats Football and basketball.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Myrtle Cornett; grandchild Jonie Renee Cornett; brothers Earl (Ruby) Cornett, Dutch (Edith) Cornett and EB (Mildred) Cornett; Sisters Elizabeth (Lib) Collett and Irene Cornett.
Survivors include his sons Jack (Faye) Cornett and Tim Cornett; sister-in-law Vickie Dye; grandchildren Jason (Heather) Cornett, Janie (Russ) Bowling, Shauna (Jason) Weaver and Kari Cornett; great-grandchildren Abbigail Cornett, Shelby Cornett, Jack Bowling, Ashton Isiah Weaver and Johnathan Weaver.
Funeral services will be 2PM Friday May 12, 2017 at Brooks-Durham Funeral Home with Rev. David Rice and Rev. Jerry Combs, burial will follow in the Pineville Memorial Cemetery with Russell Bowling, Marshall Ramey, Billy Todd Dye, Justin Daniels, Mike Bennett, John Evans and Arthur Jackson serving as pallbearers; Honorary pallbearers will be Billy Dye, John Rice, Dodie Collett, Jackie Hoskins, Duane Cornett, Harry Bruner, Men of the First Christian Church and Dr. Jerry Woolum.
The family will receive friends after 6pm Thursday May 11, 2017 at Brooks-Durham Funeral Home until 9pm. The Brooks-Durham Funeral Home is honored to serve the Cornett family.
