Edward Defevers, 80, of Kettle Island, passed away on Sunday, December 4, 2016. He was born in Kettle Island, KY on March 9, 1936 to the late Clarence and Alice Barnett Defevers. In his younger years, he had been a machinist for International Harvester. Along with his loving wife, his joy came from helping and watching his grandchildren and great-grandchildren grow, but the best day of his life was November 13, 2014 when he accepted a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his son Eddie Defevers, son-in-law Gayle Michael Chavies, and brothers James Defevers, Taylor Defevers, and Jack Defevers.
Survivors include his praying wife of 63 years, Mona Brock Defevers, children, Karen Chavies and Scott Defevers; grandchildren Joshua (Katie) Defevers, Jessica (Clay) Carroll, Jonathan (Tiffany) Defevers, and Holly (Kenny) Vanover; great-grandchildren Caitlin Defevers, Brayden Carroll, Kasen Vanover, Claire Partin, Tucker Partin and baby Vanover due May 2017; sisters Juanita Price and Gertrude Smith.
