Dewey Rice

Dewey Rice, age 68 of Arjay, KY passed away on Thursday, December 26, 2024, at Pineville Community Healthcare. He was born on August 27, 1956, in Pineville, KY to the late Charles and Kitty Rose Miracle Rice. Dewey liked to hunt, and he loved the mountains, animals and playing guitar; he was a great papaw and dad. He always made sure to provide and take care of his family.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Carol Rice; daughter Michelle Rice; brother Jackie Lee Rice.

Survivors include his daughter, Destiny Rice Flowers (Philip); grandchildren, Tony Aaron Asher (Crystal) and Caroline Mackenzie Rice (Mitch); great-grandchildren, Gavin Micah Lee Mills, Oakley Ember Flowers, Maylee Faye Anita Collins, Xavier Collin Asher, Nevaeh Faith Michelle Asher and Malayah Renee Asher; brothers Charles Rice and Deeron Rice; sisters Frances Hubbard, Teresa Tigue and Alice Abbot.

Funeral services will be on Monday, December 30, 2024, at Brooks-Durham Funeral Home at 1PM with Rev. Dalton Payne and Rev. Gary Wagner; music will be provided by Allie Baker and Julie Wagner; burial will follow in Rice Cemetery, Arjay, KY with Philip Flowers, Mitch Collins, Aaron Asher, Cody Rice, Bobby Hensley, Justin Layne and Derek Jackson.

The family will receive friends after 6PM on Saturday until 9PM at Brooks-Durham Funeral Home and again on Sunday after 5PM until 9PM at Brooks-Durham Funeral Home. The Brooks-Durham Funeral Home is honored to serve the Rice family and ask that you keep them in your prayers.
