Tommy Wayne Gibson, age 53, of Bean Station, TN formerly of Harlan County, KY passed away peacefully, Monday, November 7, 2022, with his wife by his side at Morristown Hamblen Hospital in Morristown, TN.
He was born October 8, 1969 to the late Clarence Gibson and Linda Tackett Gibson Wynn.
Tommy moved from Harlan County in 1998 to pursue an over the road truck driving career. Before moving to Tennessee, he was a coal miner for many years.
He was preceded in death by his father Clarence Gibson, his sister Mary Gray, and his father and mother in law Junior and Brenda Madden.
Left to cherish his memory and mourn his passing is his wife of 32 years, Ann (Madden) Gibson. Two sons Jonathan Gibson of Harlan, KY and Christopher Gibson of Martinsville, IN. Two daughters Ashley Gibson of Rogersville, TN and Megan Gibson of Bean Station, TN. Seven grandchildren Sailum, Hellana, Wyatt, Brysen, Colten, Darby and Delaney who thought he was the best, most funniest papaw ever. He loved seeing their precious faces on every FaceTime call he received.
In addition to his wife and children, he is survived by his mother Linda Tackett Wynn of Harlan, KY. His brother Clarence Gibson of Cullman, AL. His sister Wanda Curtis of Harlan, KY. His brother in law Bruce (LaRae) Bush of White Pine, TN. His sister in law Jennifer (Terry) Carrol of Pineville, KY along with a host of nieces, nephews and other family and friends.
Visitation will be from 12:00 until 1:00 Friday, November 11, 2022 in the chapel of Brooks Durham Funeral Home in Pineville, KY. The service will begin at 1:00 with an eulogy from Terry Carroll.
Burial will be at Dalton Cemetery in Bean Station, TN with family and friends serving as pallbearers. The Brooks-Durham Funeral Home is honored to serve the Gibson family.
