Charles D. Girdner “Bubba” age 81 of East Jellico, Pineville, KY passed away Friday December 6, 2019 at his home surrounded by his loved ones. He was born January 10, 1938 in Pineville, KY to the late John Frank and Rosie Tabor Girdner. He had been a truck driver and proudly served in the United States Army. Charles was a member of the American Legion and would tell amazing stories, you wouldn’t have to move a foot and could go around the world.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his daughter, Angel Girdner; brothers John Frank Girdner, Domer Girdner; sisters Frankie Duncan and Francis Jean Jones.
Survivors include his children Virginia Melissa Hollingsworth (John) John Wayne Girdner, Charles Girdner, Jr. (Angela Johnson) Robert Girdner (Kasey) and Rosie Jean “Patty” Girdner; brothers Herman Girdner and Mike Girdner; grandchildren Jessica Rose Seaver, John Allen Girdner, Jason Tyler Girdner, Joey Marie Girdner, Braylynn Girdner, Macey Girdner, Charles Cameron Girdner, Lauren Daniell Girdner, Nikki Girdner, Katelyn Girdner, Ethan Girdner, Austin Girdner and Alyssa Clair Edmondson. A host of nieces, nephews’ other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will Tuesday December 10, 2019 at Brooks-Durham Funeral Home at 2PM; burial will follow in Mills Cemetery, Tinsley, KY with family and friends as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends on Monday December 9, 2019 after 6PM at Brooks-Durham Funeral Home until 9PM. The Brooks-Durham Funeral Home is honored to serve the Girdner family.
