Phronia Parker

Phronia Helen Parker, age 91 of York, South Carolina formally of Pineville, KY departed this life on June 12, 2023, at White Oak Manor. She was born May 6, 1932, in Harlan Co. Kentucky to the late Joseph and Lucy Saylor Brock. Phronia was a devoted Christian and mother; she loved Kentucky basketball with a passion and was the oldest living member at East Pineville Baptist Church of Pineville.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Judge Paul Parker; sister, Vina Smith, Zola Brock, Judy Brock and Alice Mills; brothers, Jonathan Brock, Dewey Brock and Arville Brock; granddaughter, Tiffany Watson; sons-in-law, David Smith and Rick Garrity.

Survivors include her children, Randy Parker, Roger (Barbara) Parker, Ronnie (Pam) Parker, Rodney Sampson (LeeAnn)Parker, Gail Smith, Joyce Parker, Steve (Delia) Parker; grandchildren, Randy Parker Jr., Justin Parker, Geoffrey Parker, Amanda Oster, Roger Parker, Christopher Parker, Sherbie Parker, Luke Watson, Sampson Parker Jr., Colt Parker, Jeremiah Hicks and Christy Wilson; sisters, Oma Helton and Mary Middleton; a host of nieces, nephews’ other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services will be Saturday, June 17, 2023, at 11AM at Brooks-Durham Funeral Home with Rev. Mark Hunter; music will be provided by Lisa Hyatt; burial will follow in the Parker-Kelly Cemetery, Harlan, KY with family and friends serving as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends after 6PM on Friday, June 16, 2023 at Brooks-Durham Funeral Home until 9PM.
