Beulah Reed, age 96 of Pineville, KY passed away on Monday, December 14, 2020 at Barbourville ARH. She was born May 31, 1924 in Tinsley, KY to the late John Thomas Thompson and Fannie Green Thompson Tinsley. Beulah began her career in education at Turkey Creek Gap then went on to teach at Yellow Hill in Middlesboro, KY, and Dean- Bell Jellico; she then taught the first grade at Buckeye from 1955 to 1980. Beulah was married to her husband Ray for 60 years whom she is preceded. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and teacher. She was a member of Greasy Creek Baptist Church for over 30 years, where she was church clerk and played piano.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Ray Reed and brother George William Faulkner.
Survivors include her two children, son Keith Reed and wife Tammy and daughter Donna Reed, both of Pineville, KY; grandchildren Dustin Reed and wife Rachel of Bimble, KY, Meagan Reed and Austin Reed both of Pineville, KY; great-grandchildren Ellie and Emma Reed; sister Susan Faulkner or Barbourville, KY; sisters-in-law, Lola Asher of Roark, KY and Beulah Baker of Magnolia, KY; brother-in-law Lloyd Asher. A host of nieces, nephews’ other relatives and many friends. The family would like to thank her caregivers, Cynthia Goodin and the doctors and staff at Barbourville, ARH.
Funeral services will be Thursday, December 17, 2020 at Brooks-Durham Funeral Home at 1PM with her grandson, Rev. Dustin Reed and her nephew, Rev. Paul Wayne Goodin; music will be provided by Dessie Centers; burial will follow in Greenhills Memorial Gardens, Middlesboro, KY, with William Faulkner, David Faulkner, Phillip Goodin, Charles Reed, David Reed and Austin Reed as pallbearers and Mr. Lloyd Asher as honorary pallbearer.
The family will receive friends after 11am on Thursday, December 17, 2020 at Brooks-Durham Funeral Home until the funeral hour at 1PM. The Brooks-Durham Funeral Home is honored to serve the Reed family and ask that you keep them in your prayers.
