Lisa Diane Slusher, age 63, of Sylvia North Carolina, formally of Pineville Kentucky,

passed away Friday, September 22, 2017 after a short battle with cancer.

After graduating from Pineville High School, Lisa went onto Western Carolina University

in Cullowhee, where she received two undergraduate degrees. She received a BS in

Parks and Recreation Management followed by a BSBA in Accounting. After graduation,

Lisa resided in Sylva until her death.

Lisa started her career at Morton Bertsich, an accounting firm in Bryson City, before

working at the Ashley Corporation as an accountant. Lisa joined Smoky Mountain

LME/MCO in 1988 as assistant finance director. She was promoted to Chief Financial

Operator in 2001, where she remained until her retirement in November of 2014.

Lisa had a passion for traveling, fishing, Kentucky basketball, music, antiquing and

photography.

Lisa is survived by two brothers, John C. Slusher (Shirley), and Keith Asher (Vickie); two

nephews, Colby Slusher (Alicia) and Joshua; two nieces, Lisa Beth Mosley (Charles)

and Whitney Asher; four great nieces, Justice, Jasmine, Keala and Kyleleena; and one

great nephew, Trenton; all of Pineville, Ky. As well as a group of very special friends,

Trish Howell, Janet Millsaps, Jennnifer Abshire, Sherry Hopper and Andrea Thurn.

She was preceded in death by her father, Virgil Babe Slusher, and mother, Louise

McGaffee Slusher.

A Celebration of life will be held Sunday, October 1, 2017 at First Baptist Church
