Thelma "Gertie" West

Thelma “Gertie” Jean West age 69 of Fourmile, KY passed away Saturday November 17,2018 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born August 25, 1949 in Turkey Creek, KY to the late James Collins and Ethel Polly Collins. She was a believer in the Pentecostal faith and was a homemaker.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Clifford West; brothers Thomas Collins, James Collins, Elmer Collins, Paul Collins and Vernon Collins, her best friend Myrtle Collins.

Survivors include her children Kenneth (Tammy) West, Maggie (Joe) Johnson, Darrell West, Charlotte (Reggie) Thacker and Tracy (Steve) Smith; grandchildren Ashley Brittan, Justin West, Sarah King, Kenny West, Tosha Diebold, Miranda Mateo Baez, Derrick Diebold, Darrell West Jr., Kyndra West, Bryan Thacker, Chase Thacker and Hannah Smith; 15 great-grandchildren; sisters and brothers Katherine Gibson, Lois Smith, Bessie Dewitt, Judy Sadler, Kenneth Collins, Shirley Christmas and Silvester Collins; a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be Wednesday November 21, 2018 at 2PM at Brooks-Durham Funeral Home with Rev. Paul Gibson and Rev. Arthur Jackson, burial will follow in the West family cemetery, Fourmile, KY with her grandsons as pallbearers. The family will receive friends after 10AM on Tuesday November 20, 2018 until 9PM at Brooks-Durham Funeral Home. The Brooks-Durham Funeral Home is honored to serve the West family.
