Arlis Wayne Wilder 53, of Barbourville, passed away on Friday October 1, 2010 at The Baptist Regional Medical Center in Corbin after a prolonged illness. He was born in Tinsley on March 13, 1957 to the late Charlie and Dora Edmondson Wilder. Arlis attended Calvary Missionary Baptist Church and had worked for Forest Lumber Yard.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his grandparents Roxie and George Wilder and John Harve and Florida Edmondson.
He is survived by his wife Melody Hodge Wilder; daughters Jennifer (Ryan) Caldwell and Stephanie Lynett Wilder; one very special grandson Le’land Hunter Caldwell; brothers Charles (Carolyn) Wilder of Louisville, KY., Tony (Stella) Wilder of Stoney Fork; sisters Geraldine (Jerry) Jeffers of Middlesboro, Shirley (Roger) Mason of Middlesboro, Deborah (Bobby) Thompson of Fourmile and Louise (Stanley) Saylor of Kettle Island; Mother-in-law Jean Hodge of Pineville; father-in-law Mack Hodge of Flatlick; sister-in-law Teresa (James “Bo”) Saylor of Pineville and Angela Hodge of Ohio; special friend Melissa Doll and special foster daughter Ellen Lynn Barlow and a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Wednesday October 6, 2010, at the Brooks-Durham Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Liford, Rev. Paul Fredrick and Rev. Arthur Jackson; music will be provided by The Calvary Missionary Baptist Church and Friends; Pallbearers will be Bo Saylor, Ryan Caldwell, Bobby Thompson ,Carl Miller and Aaron Gambrel, . Burial will follow in the Mills Cemetery, Ingram.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 9 Tuesday October 5, 2010 at the Brooks-Durham Funeral Home. The Brooks-Durham Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements and is honored to be serving the Wilder family.
