William B. Rice

William B. Rice, 90, of Port Clinton, OH passed away Thursday, February 15, 2024 at Admirals Pointe, Huron, OH. He was born May 5, 1933 in Four Mile, KY the son of Huey Vance and Eva (Travis) Rice. He married Phyllis Slusher on March 3, 1954 and she preceded him in death on February 19, 2000. He later married Anna Lee Mink and she preceded him in death on September 7, 2014. He worked for General Motors for 30 years before retiring and was a Charter Boat Captain for 30 more years. He was a veteran of the United States Army and a member of Grace Baptist Church, Oak Harbor, OH. Besides his love of family and friends, Bill loved fishing and, in his younger days, hunting. He was a skilled mechanic and an all-around ”fix-it man”. He was always quick to help anybody that needed it.

Surviving are his children: Steven (Norma) Rice of Chehalis, WA, Susan Rice of Port Clinton; grandchildren: Joseph Vance King of Warren, OH, Samuel Phillip (Sara) Morris of Oxford, OH, Shannon Harris of Juneau, AK; great-grandchildren: Ben Morris, Luna Morris, Maximus Harris, Robert Harris, Kane Harris, Kia Harris; step-daughter: Lue A. “Sue” (Ronald) Williams of Huber Heights, OH. He was preceded in death by his siblings: Dessie Branstutter and Everett Rice.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, February 21, 2024 from 2:00 – 4:00 pm at Crosser & Priesman Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 301 N. Locust St. Oak Harbor, OH. with Memorial Services at the funeral home at 4:00 pm. Additional visitation will be held Friday, February 23, 2024 from 12:00 noon – 2:00 pm at Brooks-Durham Funeral Home, 205 Kentucky Ave., Pineville, KY with funeral services at the funeral home at 2:00 pm. Interment will follow in Rice Family Cemetery, Four Mile, KY. Memorial contributions may be given to Grace Baptist Church, 325 S Toussaint-Portage Rd. Oak Harbor, OH 43449.
